LG teams up with Web3 music platform

Here's a mash-up you didn’t see coming. The Label Foundation, that band of Web 3.0 musical builders, has teamed up with the home appliance titan, LG Electronics, to unveil ‘Tracks,’ a Web3-ified music streaming service.

Now available on LG’s newest Smarter TV since September 25th, ‘Tracks’ is aiming to target Generation Z with curated playlists, some eye-candy visuals, and rewards for listening time. If nothing else, at least they understand the age-old principle: the way to a Gen Z’s heart is through free stuff.

Let’s talk about Label Foundation for a second - these maestros are on a mission to use Web 3.0 to change the way we pick and pay for our jam. And although the project is still early, it seems like it holds some promises. Now, will ‘Tracks’ change the way your auntie thinks about music streaming? Probably not. But it might just get the young talking about blockchain without that glazed-over look in their eyes. And that, dear friends, is a win in our book.

Musée d’Orsay: Where Van Gogh Meets Blockchain

Let's cut to the chase: Musée d’Orsay, the bastion of fine art, has decided to flirt with the future by partnering up with Tezos Foundation and KERU. The goal? To create blockchain-based digital souvenirs. All this kicks off with the opening of “Van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise: The Final Months” on October 3, 2023. Because nothing says ‘modern’ like tagging a little blockchain onto Van Gogh’s legacy.

And this isn’t a new wave into the blockchain waters, it's a calculated plunge. After seeing other Euro museums get involved in web3, Musée d’Orsay is jumping in, Tezos Foundation by their side. And it’s a great fortune that Tezos has been in this game before with the likes of London’s Serpentine Gallery and the Museum of Modern Arts.

So, in a nutshell: a Parisian museum, a blockchain foundation, and a digital venture all meet together. The result? A blend of tradition and tech, forging a fresh path in how we ‘museum’ in the modern world. Stay tuned with The Geral to see if this concept becomes a classic or just a passing fad.

MoneyGram to Launch a Non-Custodial Wallet

Once again, web3 has snared yet another traditional titan. MoneyGram, the old guard of payment processing, announced its entry into the crypto world with a noncustodial crypto wallet, during the Stellar Development Foundation's annual party.

Set to be launched on the markets in Q1 2024, this wallet is the offspring of a ménage à trois between MoneyGram, Stellar Network, and Cheesecake Labs. They promise instant transactions with the Stellar network and MoneyGram’s fiat ramps playing house. Oh, and it’s on the house till June 2024.

So why is this interesting for you? Simply because users will be able to cash out their crypto at any MoneyGram partner facility. They also slid in a promise of “safer and more secure” transactions, because who doesn’t enjoy a good old global compliance screening?
