Huawei's NES: The Blockchain Butler You Never Knew You Needed

Imagine blockchain management just got a sleek, corporate makeover… That’s why Huawei is currently doing with the NES platform.

Firstly, the NES platform is Huawei’s attempt to make blockchain as manageable as a well-organized spreadsheet. The idea is to simplify the complexities of blockchain network management, just like a sommelier deciphering a wine list for you – except it’s for blockchain, and sadly, there's no wine involved.

NES is your go-to toolbox for blockchain, promising a smooth ride on networks like Ethereum. Think of it as the all-in-one gadget you bought from a late-night infomercial – it slices, dices, and makes julienne fries! Will it live up to the hype? Only time will tell.

Now, for the tech-savvy folks, NES is like having cheat codes for a video game. It's supposed to handle the grunt work of network validation and DApp development, so you can sit back, relax, and maybe see a 10% bump in your node income- they promised that as a bonus. Because who doesn't like a pay raise for doing less?

Currently, NES is available in the AP-Singapore region, with big plans to spread its wings. Huawei's not new to this game, though. They've got other blockchain ventures like the Huawei Cloud Blockchain Service (BCS) – a DIY kit for blockchain – and the Smart City Blockchain Solution, which honestly sounds like a high-tech solution in search of a problem.

So, there you have it. Huawei's NES is stepping into the blockchain party with a promise to make things easier. Will it be a hit or a miss?

Forbes Dives into Web3: Connect Wallet, Connect World

Imagine a world where connecting your digital wallet unlocks cool stuff. Forbes made it possible.

Taha Ahmed, Forbes' Chief Growth Officer, is practically beaming with pride over this. He says it's a new chapter in engagement, but let's be real – it's like getting an invite to the coolest, most exclusive party in town. Only instead of champagne and hors d'oeuvres, you get premium content for free.

This whole Connect Wallet shebang is about letting you shape the future of Forbes' content. That's right, you get to call some of the shots. Seems like the web3 creator economy is becoming more and more of a thing.

But wait, there's more. This isn't just about feeling important; it's about being in the know. Members get the inside scoop on investment signals and expert advice- - probably better than your Telegram call channel.

To make sure you don't get lost in the transition, Forbes is teaming up with Magic- one of the leading wallet-as-a-service companies. They're like the digital world's friendly neighborhood guides, making sure your journey into web3 is as smooth as your favorite latte. Sean Li, the big boss at Magic, is all about making web3 as easy as sending an email. He's excited to partner with Forbes, probably envisioning a world where even your grandma knows what a digital wallet is.

So, there you have it. Forbes' Connect Wallet is more than just a feature; it's a handshake into the future of digital engagement.

Solana Mobile's New Launch: Big Preorders and some YouTube Critique

Let’s talk about Solana’s latest smartphone move. They’ve just announced a new phone following their first model, the Saga, and it's already making waves. In just 48 hours, they’ve managed to rack up about 30,000 preorders.

Remember the Solana Saga? That was their first try at a smartphone, packed with high-end specs (like the Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 and a hefty 12GB of RAM). But despite all that, it didn’t sell as well as expected at first, starting at $1,000. Sales were slow until they linked the purchase with some BONK token giveaways, and suddenly, everyone wanted one- we see you, degens. It became so popular that it sold out in the U.S., and prices on eBay skyrocketed to over $3,000 for some models.

Now, Solana Mobile is back at it with a new version. It’s pretty much like the Saga, but with some hardware improvements and, importantly, a lower price. They’re aiming to make it more affordable and appealing to a wider audience.

But here’s an interesting twist: a popular tech YouTuber, Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), wasn't a fan of the original Saga. He even called it the “Worst New Phone of 2023.” That’s a tough review to get, especially when your L1 token made a 4x in the past year. But it looks like Solana Mobile is taking that feedback seriously and trying to make this new version better.

The big picture? Solana Mobile isn’t just selling phones; they’re trying to change how we think about smartphones and blockchain technology. They’re making a statement in the tech world, and it seems like they're getting a lot of attention. Will the new phone live up to the hype and address the criticisms? That remains to be seen.

Best Practices for Your Token Community

Let’s get back to the basics. In the past editions of The Geral, we gave you the keys to utilizing DAO platforms, writing successful grant applications and so on… But some of you don’t know that we aggregate all of the knowledge to build and grow a web3 community on one platform: The Charm School. We recently rebuilt it and added content on pretty much everything you need to become the most interesting person in the room at a web3 event, so check it out!

Cool Stuff Seen on CharmVerse

Optimism and CharmVerse share a bond that goes beyond mere collaboration. We're incredibly thankful for the support Optimism has extended to us over the past year. Their backing played a pivotal role in securing 110,000 OP in funding under the RetroPGF program. It’s also exciting news that CharmVerse is chosen once more to be the engine behind @OptimismGrants Token House Grants for Season 5.

The Optimism collective's generosity has been nothing short of amazing. To show our appreciation and commitment to this partnership, we've decided to drop our 10,000 OP fee for Season 5. This means the Grants Council can enjoy full access to our platform without any cost. We’re eager to keep this fruitful partnership with Optimism Grants going strong.

Memes of the Month🔥

We’re back with the best memes seen on the internet (since the next edition of The Geral), we’ll let you judge by yourselves.

Many of us got caught up in the ETF hype, mainly because of people like Jake…

Or is it because of Jim Cramer?

I mean, this did happen last week:

Let’s get back to getting hoodies guys..

That’s a wrap for The Geral #18! See you in two weeks for another deep dive into the world of Web3 communities.
